Additional Services Children and Adolescents
School Based Counseling and Services
Children spend up to one-third of their lives in the school system. Their interactions with teachers, coaches and peers often exceed those with their own family. AO/DaySpring provides counseling services in many schools in Tulsa and Northeast Oklahoma. We work with the child, the family and the school to identify the child’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. We help develop meaningful plans to promote positive change. Our goal is to reduce significant behavioral or emotional problems by increasing the child or adolescent's self-image, academic success and daily functioning.
Services are provided during the school day and include:
- Individual and Group Behavioral Skills Training
Home and Community Based Services
AO/DaySpring provides counseling services to children and adolescents coping with such issues as loss, grief, adjustment, health crises, and family problems. Counselors focus on reconnecting the individual to their strengths and abilities in finding the means to cope and find solutions. These services may take place in the home, at a mutually agreed upon location in the community, or at a traditional office site. Family sessions are encouraged. Our goal is to break down any and all barriers to helping our clients receive the help they need and to become the most accessible provider we can be.
Services provided include:
- Case Management
- 24 hour Crisis Management
Assessments and Treatment Planning
These services are provided to evaluate individual problems and needs, and to help assure that appropriate services are available to the person seeking services. Initial, ongoing and crisis evaluations are all used. These services are provided or supervised by a licensed professional and reviewed with a medical doctor with psychiatric training.
Case Management
Case Management is the support an individual or family receives to enhance self-sufficiency. A certified Paraprofessional will work with the client to improve and maintain functioning in their home, school, and community environment.
Individual and Group Behavioral Skills Education
Behavioral skills education involves teaching modeling and training appropriate skills to improve chances for successful experiences in school, family, and social life experiences.
Crisis Services
Crisis services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for AO/DaySpring clients.
